Better Offhand Addon

Mods / Addons / Mods 1.26

The Better Offhand Addon fixes one of Bedrock’s most frustrating limitations by letting you dual-wield standard vanilla items seamlessly across mobile and PC. It brings authentic offhand functionality without cluttering your world with weird custom recipes or broken mechanics.

Instead of digging through inventory menus mid-fight, a quick double-crouch instantly swaps whatever you’re holding between hands. That double-tap motion feels completely natural whether you're using a mouse or tapping a touchscreen on Android and iOS, making this a rare mobile-friendly MCPE utility.

The immediate quality-of-life upgrade when diving into deep caves is wild. Picture sprint-mining through deepslate tunnels: your main hand swings an Efficiency pickaxe, while your left hand plants torches on the fly the second things get pitch black. No more frantic hotbar scrolling every ten blocks just to see if a creeper is creeping behind a stalagmite. When hostile mobs drop in, you can hold an enchanted bow or a loaded crossbow in one hand while swinging a diamond sword with the other, keeping melee pressure high and picking off ranged skeleton snipers before they push you off a ledge.

What makes this mod feel buttery smooth instead of clunky is how naturally it maps to existing Bedrock inputs. Whether you are clutching up on mobile touch controls, chilling with an Xbox pad, or sweating out keyboard clicks on PC, the secondary item interactions register reliably. You do not have to fight awkward custom HUD buttons or mess around with annoying chat command menus just to swap an item into your offhand. It just works right out of your inventory screen, treating your secondary slot like a full-blown extension of your character loadout.

Once an item sits in your left hand, your survival routine gets an instant upgrade. You can carry torches, lanterns, building blocks, buckets, clocks, and compasses while keeping your main hand free to swing a pickaxe or sword. Placing items works just as smoothly by crouching and hitting the use button. Cave spelunking feels dramatically better because held light sources illuminate dark passages smoothly without that harsh, distracting screen-flash effect common in older lighting scripts.

Because the pack sticks exclusively to pure vanilla items, you never have to worry about missing crafting recipes or broken item IDs after a game update. It’s an essential Minecraft Bedrock dual wield mod for anyone running low-stress caving trips, mega-builds, or long-term mobile worlds. Having your offhand actually do work makes going back to default controls almost impossible.
