Dynamic Light Torches & Offhand Mod is a pure quality-of-life addon for anyone who’s tired of doing the classic cave routine: place torch, walk five blocks, place torch, repeat. This mod introduces a dynamic lighting system that lets you illuminate your area in real time while you’re moving, without permanently placing light sources everywhere. The key idea is that your light follows you, so exploring dark caves, abandoned tunnels, or nighttime paths feels smoother and way less stop-and-go.
The mechanic is built around torches and the offhand. When you interact with a torch, the addon automatically moves it to your offhand as a special light item. Once it’s in the offhand, it becomes your mobile light source, lighting up the space around you as you walk, mine, or travel. That’s especially useful in survival when you’re trying to move fast through a cave system or you’re doing a quick loot run and don’t want to leave a trail of torches behind.
Using it is simple and specific: to place the torch in your offhand, you interact with the torch the same way you’d place a block, but you need to be looking at an air block. That “air block” detail matters, because it means you’re not placing the torch on a surface—you’re converting it into the offhand light instead. Once you get the muscle memory, it becomes a quick move you can do on the fly before heading into any dark area.
Practical tip: this addon is perfect for exploration runs where you don’t want to “mess up” the look of caves or builds with torch spam. Use it when you’re scouting, mapping, or just trying to get from point A to point B safely. If you’re doing a long-term survival base underground, you can still place permanent lighting later where you actually want it—this mod just makes the journey there feel way better. Dynamic Light Torches & Offhand Mod is basically a mobile torch system for Minecraft Bedrock that keeps your path visible while you move, without forcing you to place lights everywhere.
