Flare Gun Addon

Mods / Addons / Mods 1.26

Exploring massive caves in Bedrock is always a pain because you have to physically walk into pitch-black areas just to place a torch. That usually ends up with a skeleton shooting you off a ledge or a creeper dropping on your head from a dark corner you couldn't see. The Flare Gun addon completely changes how you handle deep underground exploration by letting you light up huge ravines and mineshafts from a safe distance.

Once you craft the gun and have the ammo in your inventory, it fires a projectile that flies fast like an arrow and sticks directly to whatever surface it hits. It doesn't just place a boring, static light source. The flare actually sparks and smokes while it burns, keeping the surrounding area fully lit for a solid two minutes before burning out and eventually despawning, so it doesn't leave a mess of blocks everywhere.

It is incredibly useful for scouting terrain before you commit to jumping down, but it also doubles as a decent ranged weapon. If you shoot a zombie or a spider hiding in the dark, the flare deals direct fire damage and briefly sets them ablaze.

What makes this specific loadout so incredibly clutch is the sheer utility packed into the design. Once a custom flare hits the wall, it burns bright for a full 120 seconds. That is two solid minutes of crisp visibility, complete with sick spark, smoke, and flash particle effects that make your sandbox game feel like a premium extraction shooter. But it doesn't stop at just being a glorified flashlight. If you get jumped by a horde of zombies or cornered by angry cave spiders, you can literally use the gun as an emergency weapon. Blasting a hostile mob with a flare instantly sets them on fire, dealing heavy burning damage over time. It gives you that desperate, high-stakes combat option when your main sword's durability is completely chalked.

The absolute biggest W in this Bedrock Edition addon is how it handles your inventory economy. The launcher itself actually has infinite durability, meaning you just craft the gun once, and you are locked in forever without worrying about mending enchantments. All you have to do is keep your pockets stocked with the cheap, craftable flare ammo. If you run a multiplayer Realm with your squad, this mod is an absolute must-have for team coordination. Getting lost in the Overworld or trying to locate a teammate during a chaotic nighttime village raid is a total nightmare. Shooting a vibrant signal flare straight up into the sky gives everyone on the server a massive visual beacon, letting your friends know exactly where you are holding down the fort.

On the technical backend, the modders absolutely nailed the performance side. A lot of older dynamic lighting scripts completely fry your tick rate by leaving glitchy ghost blocks everywhere. This system features built-in, automatic cleanup logic. Once that two-minute burn timer runs out, the spent flare models and temporary light sources wipe themselves from the chunk flawlessly, keeping your world file squeaky clean and lag-free even on mobile devices.

Ditch the primitive survival mechanics and give your loadout a massive tactical upgrade. Grab the Flare Gun Addon, load up a fresh clip of ammo, and start dominating those terrifying underground cave systems like a true tryhard.

The setup is extremely survival-friendly because the gun itself doesn't even have a durability bar. You craft it once using some basic iron, copper, and redstone, and it lasts forever. You just need to keep crafting the ammo, which is cheap to mass-produce since throwing gunpowder, paper, and redstone into a crafting table gives you eight flares at a time.
