Heroes: Superman lets you gain Kryptonian powers in Minecraft Bedrock and face some of Superman’s best-known enemies. You can fly, use heat vision and frost breath, and even find Krypto—but first, you will need to gather the materials that make those abilities possible.

Your search begins with kryptonite. The addon adds several types of ore underground, including platinum kryptonite, and you can also find Kryptonian pods that fall from the sky. These pods contain kryptonite-related items and can be searched several times. You will need a Super Station for most of the addon’s recipes and a centrifuge to help prepare a Kryptonian blood vial. Drinking the vial gives you a chance to receive either full or half-Kryptonian powers. Drawing the blood needed for the process costs some health, so make sure you are not already close to defeat when preparing it.

Full Kryptonian powers include flight and heat vision. To take off, sprint and hold jump; once airborne, you can travel over terrain that would normally take a long time to cross. Heat vision damages and sets fire to what you target, giving you a ranged attack to try against enemies. Frost breath has a different effect on the world around you: it can turn water into ice, lava into obsidian, and the ground into snow. There is also a thunder clap that knocks enemies back. These powers give you several ways to handle an encounter, as well as some interesting possibilities when exploring the landscape.

Half-Kryptonian powers have their own advantages. Instead of flight and heat vision, this set includes a super jump and a telekinetic shield, alongside frost breath and thunder clap. Holding jump for longer lets you leap higher, but you need to watch where you land: a sufficiently long fall can still be deadly. The shield prevents damage while it is active, although you cannot attack at the same time. Both sets of powers share Superman’s famous weakness. Staying close to kryptonite causes poison and other negative effects, and your powers begin to weaken, so finding the ore is not without risk once you have transformed.

The addon gives you challenging opponents to face as well. General Zod can be found at a structure in the mesa, but defeating him takes more than simply reducing his health. Once he is below 100 health, you need to use the Phantom Zone Projector to finish the fight. Lex Luthor is found in the plains and must be attacked around his chest. Later in the battle, he uses kryptonite projectiles that can be particularly dangerous to a Kryptonian player. Bizarro provides another encounter with its own conditions, including a trip where blue kryptonite becomes important.

There are a few more things to discover beyond Superman’s abilities. Steel has a suit and a kinetic hammer that can be thrown and return to its user, while Krypto can join you as a companion. To find him, use a platinum kryptonite fragment on a wolf; there is a chance it will become Krypto, after which you can tame him with bones. Heroes: Superman gives you powers to experiment with, but it also gives you enemies and weaknesses to consider. Gather the materials, see which Kryptonian abilities you receive, and decide whether you are ready to face Zod and the others.
