HEXBYTE: FOREVER ALLY (Friendly Bot) — your new ride-or-die for Bedrock. The Friendly Bot isn’t just a follower; it’s a proper teammate. It can throw hands when mobs rush, hold a doorway while you craft, help with build tasks, and even talk to you so runs don’t feel quiet. Everything runs through a fully working UI plus a slick cellphone menu, so swapping behavior is fast: one minute it’s glued to your hip, the next it’s on guard duty while you dig or trade.
In survival, the bot shines during the tricky moments. I’ll set it to protect while I open chests or smelt, then flip it back to follow when it’s time to push a cave. Raids feel way calmer with a bodyguard watching the bell lane; you kite pillagers, it cleans up stragglers. On build nights, having a bot around means you can focus on the shape while your corner stays safe from random creepers. And when you’re just roaming, the chat side makes it feel like you’ve got a buddy along for the walk instead of running solo between biomes.
Some Minecraft trips would be a lot less stressful with another player watching your back. That isn’t always possible when you’re playing alone, so HEXBYTE: FOREVER ALLY adds a friendly bot that can follow you, fight, pick up items, and help with certain building tasks. It has a player-like appearance, and you can give it a name, choose from different looks, and bring it along while you explore. The bot can also send chat messages, so a long trip through the world doesn’t have to be completely quiet.
To make a bot your companion, use a diamond on it. Once tamed, it can follow you and respond to commands. Take a little time to get used to its controls before heading straight into a dangerous cave. The add-on includes a settings interface and a phone-style menu for managing companions. The phone provides a friends list and options for calling companions or teleporting to them, while the bot’s interface lets you control its behavior. You can also tell it to sit or stand, which is useful when you want it to stay put while you organize supplies or decide where to go next.
A companion becomes especially useful when hostile mobs show up. The bot can fight with melee and ranged weapons, including swords, bows, crossbows, and tridents. Its behavior changes according to what it’s holding, so think about how you want it to help before handing over equipment. It can also use a shield, move around during combat, and eat food to recover health. I’d still keep an eye on it during a difficult fight rather than assuming it can handle everything alone. A companion with a sword might give you a chance to deal with another enemy, but you’re both better off if you arrive prepared.
You can give the bot items by holding what you want to hand over, looking at it, and dropping the item. The inventory setting matters here: when inventory is enabled, the bot stores items instead of automatically equipping them. Check that setting before giving it a weapon you expect it to use. The bot can pick things up on its own as well, which may be handy after a fight or while you’re working nearby. Take some time to learn how it handles equipment before handing over anything especially valuable; the add-on’s controls give you several ways to interact, and it helps to know which one you’re using.
Combat isn’t the only reason to bring an ally home. The bot can help with building through its scaffolding-related abilities, and it can stay with you while you work around your base. Give your companion a custom name and pick a look you like if you want it to feel more like a regular member of your world. You could bring it on mining trips, take it along while exploring, or have it nearby while you prepare for the next adventure. HEXBYTE won’t replace every part of playing with a friend, but it gives solo survival a companion that can do more than simply follow you around.
The cellphone menu is the cheat code for pacing: quick opens, quick toggles, back to action. No digging through clunky screens every time you change plans. On Realms, it’s perfect as a base sentinel—post it near storage, head out, and come home to the same number of walls you left. It’s still Bedrock at heart—mine, craft, explore—with a reliable partner covering your blind spots. If you want a friendly guard who actually pulls weight and doesn’t log off, HEXBYTE: FOREVER ALLY (Friendly Bot) makes every session safer, chattier, and a lot more fun.
