Hostile Pet Mod flips the usual “run from mobs” mindset and lets you collect them instead. Every time you take down a supported hostile mob, there’s a small chance it drops an egg linked to its type — zombies can drop Zombie Eggs, skeletons drop Skeleton Eggs, and so on. Right now the addon covers ten classics: Zombie, Skeleton, Stray, Drowned, Bogged, Creeper, Spider, Cave Spider, Husk, and Enderman. You can’t just toss the eggs around and forget about them either. Some of them, like zombie, skeleton, stray, bogged, and drowned eggs, will literally burn in daylight if you leave them sitting out, so you’re forced to think about where you stash them. After about 10–20 minutes, the egg finally cracks and a mini mob pops out.
Once they hatch, that’s when the fun really starts. Each mini mob has its own taming item: rotten flesh for the undead trio, bones for the ranged skeleton types, gunpowder or even TNT for the Mini Creeper, ender pearls for the Mini Enderman, and wolf-style food for spiders and cave spiders. When they’re tamed, they lock onto you like loyal, slightly cursed pets, following you around and jumping into fights the same way wolves do. Some of them can even pick up and use gear you give them. Mini Skeletons and Mini Zombies can equip weapons and armor; if you don’t like what they’re wearing anymore, you just sit them down and use shears while sneaking to strip the item off.
Ranged pets bring extra spice. Mini Skeleton, Mini Stray, and Mini Bogged can use bows, while Mini Drowned can throw a trident and also smack things up close. Mini Creeper is basically a living, walking panic button: it charges in, explodes near a target, then collapses into a stunned state where it can’t move or attack for a good 15–20 seconds. It’s strong, but you have to play around that recovery time. The only real warning is their size; mini mobs have tiny hitboxes and can slip through narrow gaps in your base, so sloppy walls and fences will come back to bite you. The addon is meant to be played on Easy or higher, too, since some pets may despawn in Peaceful. If you’ve ever wanted a whole squad of tiny hostile mobs backing you up in survival, Hostile Pet Mod gives you that exact chaos in a really fun, collectible way.
