Thermonuclear Expansion Mod doesn’t hand you a cartoon “nuke” and call it a day. It makes you work through a whole tech ladder that feels heavy and dangerous, even inside Minecraft. You start by actually dealing with uranium as a real resource: mining it, separating usable material from inert junk, and slowly building up stock you can feed into more advanced machines. It’s not a quick craft; it’s a full industrial arc that sits way past your basic iron farm era.
From there the real tension kicks in around reactors. You’re not just plopping down a magic block, you’re building a nuclear setup that has to bombard uranium with neutrons to turn it into plutonium. That means thinking about where you place it, how you power it, how you cool it, and how close you’re willing to let this thing live to your main base. It becomes the heart of a secured facility instead of just another room in your starter house.
Only once you’ve nailed extraction, refinement, and reactor management does the weapon side even come into play. On servers, that turns nukes into political tools rather than throwaway griefing items—something factions race toward, guard, and threaten with, because everyone knows how much work sits behind a single device. Thermonuclear Expansion Mod is all about that pressure: heavy industry, careful planning, and the constant “are we sure about this?” moment before you flip anything on.
