Spellbound Skies Mod will add magic, dragons to the game, you can tame dragons, fly on them and fight bosses on dragons! Forget horses. I want a dragon big enough to carry me over a mountain and set something on fire before breakfast. Spellbound Skies brings dragons, magical powers, and dangerous boss encounters into Minecraft Bedrock, turning an ordinary survival world into a fantasy adventure where your next flying companion starts out as an egg.
Finding that egg is where the real adventure begins. Spellbound Skies introduces wild dragons inspired by valuable Minecraft materials, including Lapis, Redstone, Gold, Emerald, and Quartz. I'd probably go searching for an Emerald Dragon first, although knowing my luck, I'd spend several evenings exploring before spotting one. The addon also includes companion dragons with designs inspired by different tree types. Oak, Birch, Spruce, Cherry, Mangrove, and several others have their own dragon variants, while the Sculk Dragon brings a darker look to the collection. You could make a whole survival project out of collecting them. Imagine building separate habitats around your base, with a cherry blossom garden for one dragon and a gloomy underground chamber for another. That sounds considerably more entertaining than keeping every animal in the same wooden pen.
Getting a dragon to fly takes some patience. After obtaining an egg, place it somewhere safe and interact with it to begin hatching. There's no special item required to start the process, although you'll be waiting roughly forty minutes for the baby to appear. The game also provides ways to speed things up using materials explained in the guidebook. Once the little dragon arrives, you need to tame it and help it grow. Feeding can make that process faster, which is useful if you're eager to get airborne. When your companion reaches adulthood, equip it with a saddle and climb aboard. Press jump to take off, then look in the direction you want to travel. The dragon follows your view while flying, making it possible to explore forests, mountains, and distant settlements from above. And yes, there's an attack you can use from the air. You can launch fireballs while riding, which immediately makes me question whether my first destination should be a dangerous fortress or somewhere with absolutely nothing flammable nearby.
Spellbound Skies goes beyond collecting flying pets. Magic spells and boss battles are part of the experience, so there's a reason to develop your dragon collection instead of simply admiring it from the ground. I'd love to build a mountain stronghold with a large landing platform, a room for magical equipment, and enough open space for several adult dragons. Then I'd take one on an expedition, discover a dangerous opponent, and almost certainly realize I should have brought better armor. One important detail is that Spellbound Skies is separate from Dragon Mounts 2. The two addons aren't intended to run together, so choose which dragon experience you want before setting up your world. The project is also still being developed, meaning occasional bugs are possible. Import its Minecraft package, enable the behavior and resource packs, and check the included guidebook for details about taming and progression. I'd start by raising one dragon properly before trying to collect the entire roster. Having a flying, fireball shooting companion is already enough excitement for one survival adventure.
