There are other unusual options to discover as well. The addon includes an Ender bow with special arrows and an XP bow connected to experience gained during combat. If you prefer something more destructive, explosive ammunition can make a much bigger impression than an ordinary arrow. It’s worth testing these weapons somewhere away from your base before taking them into a serious fight. Getting used to the different effects—and seeing what they do to the area around a target—will help you choose the right bow when there’s more at stake.

Making the new equipment gives you another reason to explore and fight. The addon introduces Frozen, Fire and Ender Spiders, which can drop special string used for crafting. These aren’t quite like the spiders you’re accustomed to meeting, so approach them carefully and bring enough food and equipment for the encounter. Once you’ve collected some of their materials, check the recipes for the bows and matching arrows you want to make. Keeping track of ammunition matters too: a special bow is much less useful on an expedition if its arrows are still sitting in a chest at home.

New Bows Overhaul suits a survival world where you want more variety from ranged weapons and new creatures to encounter along the way. You can work toward one favorite bow first, then try the others as you gather their materials. It also offers possibilities for friendly competitions: build a target range, compare different shots with friends or prepare an arena where there’s room to test the more dramatic effects. Activate both the behavior and resource packs, make some space in your inventory for ammunition and see which bow earns a permanent place beside your other equipment.
