XP Tome Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

XP Tome Addon books in which you can save XP experience in Minecraft. You’ve spent an evening mining, smelting ore and fighting mobs, and now you have a healthy stack of experience levels. Then you decide to make one quick trip into a cave. A creeper appears around the corner, and suddenly getting those levels back becomes a problem of its own. XP Tome gives you a way to put your experience aside before you head somewhere dangerous. The add-on introduces special books that hold XP until you’re ready to use it again.

There are five tiers of tome, each with a different storage capacity. The smallest holds 1,395 experience points, the amount needed to reach level 30 from zero. Higher-capacity books can hold more, with the largest storing 30,970 points, enough to reach level 100 from zero. That gives you a choice depending on how much experience you tend to collect. A smaller book may be enough if you regularly spend your levels on enchantments, while a larger one is useful if you prefer to save for several projects.

Using a tome lets you move experience into storage and take it back when you need it. Interact with the book to manage its contents, then keep it somewhere convenient until you’re ready to enchant, repair or combine your equipment. If you have an enchanting room, a chest nearby is a natural place for it. Before setting off on a long mining trip, you can stop there, put your experience away and leave knowing that a bad encounter underground won’t cost you the levels you’ve stored at home.

The book is useful even on quieter days. Maybe you’ve been breeding animals and smelting stacks of iron while working around your base, and the experience has slowly added up. You don’t have anything to enchant just yet, but you know you’ll need levels later. Put them into a tome and carry on building. When you finally make that diamond pickaxe or find a book worth applying to your armor, your saved experience will be waiting for you.

It also makes preparation for a boss fight a little less frustrating. Heading into the Nether or looking for a stronghold is exciting, but it’s easy to lose progress when something goes wrong far from home. Storing experience before leaving won’t make the trip any safer, and you’ll still need to think about your equipment and supplies. It does mean you can leave some of what you’ve earned behind, ready for the next attempt if things don’t go to plan.

Of course, the tome itself needs somewhere safe to stay. If you take it into a dangerous area and lose the item, the experience inside may be difficult to recover too. Leaving it in a chest before a risky journey is a simple habit to get into. You can always retrieve the stored XP once you’re back and ready to use it.

XP Tome is a small addition, but it fits neatly into everyday survival. Mine, explore and gather experience as usual; when the levels start to add up, put them away for later. It’s especially handy for players who like to collect resources first and return to their base to do all their enchanting at once.
