Fire Magic Addon allows you to master and control fire magic in Minecraft. Fire Magic gives you a collection of fiery abilities, from a simple fireball attack to spells that surround enemies with flames. You can set the ground alight, summon a wall of fire, or send a burning wisp after a target. If you enjoy playing as a mage but still want to spend your time exploring caves and building a survival base, these powers give familiar encounters a different feel.
The addon offers two styles of fire magic: Area and Trickster. Both share a basic Fireball attack, which launches two flaming projectiles, and a passive ability that protects the user from fire damage. From there, their skills take different directions. Area magic gives you several ways to attack groups and affect the ground around you. Trickster includes abilities that reward movement, so you can speed around the battlefield while leaving flames behind. Trying both is a good way to find out whether you prefer standing your ground or staying on the move.
With Area magic, Will o’ Wisp summons a fiery entity that chases enemies and burns them. It’s a useful trick when a hostile mob is moving toward you and you want another source of damage in the fight. Fire Blast creates a fiery attack near an enemy that burns creatures it touches before exploding. Scorch affects the area around you and sets the ground on fire, which can be dramatic when several mobs have gathered nearby. Fire Pledge goes even further, creating a large area of flames that traps and damages multiple targets before blasting them.
The Trickster abilities feel a little more restless. Flare Blitz gives you a burst of speed and sets the ground beneath your steps on fire. That can make a chase across open terrain much more exciting, though it’s a move you’ll want to test away from anything you’ve built out of wood. Frenzy Flames brings out fiery entities that attack nearby enemies, while Fire Wall creates a burning barrier in front of you that damages creatures touching it and eventually explodes. Fire Dance combines extra speed with a large burning area that can damage and slow nearby creatures.
Your spells use mana, which recovers gradually over time. That means a long fight calls for a little more thought than casting every ability as soon as it becomes available. You might open with a fireball, save a stronger attack for a group, and give your mana time to recover before heading into the next encounter. The magic is available through the creative inventory, so you can also try the abilities in a test world before deciding which style you’d like to use in a longer adventure.
Fire is fun to experiment with, but it can leave a mess. Since some abilities set the ground on fire, practice away from your house, farms, animals, and anything else you don’t want caught in the flames. If you’re playing with friends, keep in mind that choosing a magic can grant it to other players in the world as well, and some skills may not work against fellow fire magic users. Once you know how the abilities behave, take them out on an adventure and see how a familiar night in Minecraft feels when you have fireballs and blazing defenses at your disposal.
