Better Squids – Addon / Texture Pack

Better Squids Mod will add improved, illuminated squid models to Minecraft Bedrock. Better Squids gives two familiar Minecraft Bedrock mobs a much wider wardrobe. Regular squids and glow squids receive new colors and designs, making them worth a second look when you spot them in the water.

The pack includes 20 squid variants and 15 glow squid variants, plus two rare squid designs and a secret variant. That gives you plenty to discover beyond the usual appearances. If you spend time traveling by boat or exploring underwater, you can keep an eye out for colors you haven’t seen yet. It’s a small detail that can make an ordinary journey more interesting: you might set off looking for a building location and end up stopping to inspect a squid instead. Finding a rare design could also give you a reason to take a screenshot, especially if you’ve already encountered several of the more common variants during your travels.



There are named variants to try as well. Names such as “RGB,” “Calamari Cane,” “Gingerbread Squid,” “Gift Box,” “Reindeer Squid,” “FBI,” and “Nerd” provide some decidedly unusual choices. The holiday-themed options could be fun for a seasonal display, while the sillier names are a good excuse to experiment and see which appearance you like best. You could put together a creative world to compare them, or work toward a little collection in your existing world. Having a favorite might be harder than expected once you start looking through the different designs. At the very least, naming a squid “Nerd” is a memorable way to spend an afternoon.

The changes extend to the way the mobs look in motion, with a pulsing animation for glow squids and updated models among the pack’s improvements. Tropical and Arctic designs add more visual variety, and baby squid appearances are included too. Take a closer look when you find a group rather than immediately swimming past. Seeing several designs together helps show what the pack adds, particularly if you’re used to treating squids as part of the scenery. You might also enjoy watching them from a window in an underwater build, where passing wildlife becomes something you can appreciate while staying inside.

Better Squids could fit nicely into a world where you’ve already spent time improving natural details. If you’re building an aquarium, a harbor, or a home beside the water, varied squid appearances give the surroundings another point of interest. You can plan a display around a particular color, compare the named designs, or simply let the new looks become part of your usual exploration. There’s no need to turn it into a collecting project unless that sounds fun to you. Keep playing, pay a little more attention to the water, and see which squid becomes the one you stop to look at every time.
