Vanilla Train Addon functional custom trains in Minecraft Bedrock. A railway is one of those projects that can take over an entire Minecraft world. First you lay a short track between your house and a mine. Then you add a station, extend the line to a village and start wondering what it would be like to travel in something bigger than a minecart. Vanilla Train lets you build your own train from blocks and turn it into a moving vehicle. You can even walk around on it while it travels.
The design is up to you. You might build a small wooden locomotive for a countryside railway, a modern passenger train for your city or a few carriages to connect the places you visit most often. Many familiar blocks are supported, including wooden planks, slabs, stone, glass and a range of decorative items. That gives you room to work with the materials you already like using. Add windows so passengers can look out at the scenery, choose a colour for the outside and leave enough space inside to move around comfortably.
To assemble a train, start with a straight section of rail and place a Bogey on it. Build your chosen structure, then use the Wrench to mark two corners around it. Once you’ve selected the area, you can name the creation and turn it into a working train. The Minecart Controls let you operate it, while the Minecart Manual helps you view and manage your trains. If you decide that a carriage needs a different shape, you can disassemble it and return to building.
You don’t have to stop at one carriage. Minecarts can be connected using a lead, and the spacing between them can be adjusted. That gives you a chance to make a longer train, with each section serving a different purpose in your design.
Being able to walk on a moving train makes the ride feel different from sitting in an ordinary minecart. You can move around your creation, look through the windows and watch familiar parts of your world pass by. A track you’ve travelled a hundred times can become more enjoyable when the journey itself is part of the experience. It also gives you a reason to put some thought into the route: a bridge across a river or a station beside a mountain might be worth the extra work when you’ll be travelling through it in a train you built yourself.
There’s plenty to experiment with, but it’s sensible to start small. Build a simple carriage, try the assembly tools and take it along a short track before committing to a much larger railway project. The add-on is still being tested, so you may encounter bugs; save and leave the world through the game menu to help protect your train data. Once you’re comfortable with how everything works, you can extend the tracks, add more carriages and make the railway your own.
