Maleficent Bestiary Mod / Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

XR's Maleficent Bestiary Addon of new mystical creatures from Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Bloodborne in Minecraft Bderok. I.G.R.I.S. doesn’t fight like an ordinary Minecraft mob. He can dodge to the side, leap toward his opponent, and recover health when his attacks connect. The longer the battle goes on, the more difficult he can become to damage. Maleficent Bestiary brings this dark fantasy boss into Minecraft Bedrock for players who want a demanding fight with more to watch than a health bar.

The add-on takes inspiration from the atmosphere of games such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. Its current centerpiece is I.G.R.I.S., a knightlord associated with the corrupted world of Emberfall. He’s the only boss currently included, but the encounter has enough mechanics to make preparing for it feel like a project of its own. This isn’t a creature you should expect to defeat simply by walking up with an iron sword and holding the attack button.

I.G.R.I.S. has several phases, and his behavior changes as the fight progresses. His basic attacks include delayed strikes, so moving at the first sign of an animation may not always be the right answer. Pay attention to the rhythm of each attack and look for a moment to move away or approach. He can also lunge forward, which means a little distance between you and the boss may disappear quickly. Give yourself space to observe him before committing to a long series of attacks.

Getting close brings another challenge: I.G.R.I.S. can dodge with sidesteps and a backflip. You might move in expecting to land a hit only to find that he’s shifted out of the way. His own attacks are particularly dangerous because they restore his health when they connect. The fight can therefore become a struggle to keep making progress while avoiding blows that help him recover. As his health decreases, his damage reduction grows, making the later part of the encounter even tougher.

There are other unusual details to watch for. Lightning can heal I.G.R.I.S., and a force around him pulls in nearby experience orbs, items, and certain undead mobs. Time also moves faster while you’re near him. These mechanics give the fight a strange atmosphere beyond the attacks themselves. If you’re testing the encounter with friends or experimenting in Creative mode, take a little time to see how he behaves before trying to plan a serious battle around him.

The boss is associated with the Cataclysm Amphitheater, a large arena built from materials including oxidized copper, blackstone, mud, and basalt. The described summoning method involves the Demonarian Flag and the Icon of Chaos at the arena. Since the add-on is still an early and unstable project, natural spawning and survival progression are not fully implemented, so finding and starting the encounter may take some experimentation. Trying the boss in a Creative test world first can help you become familiar with his attacks before bringing the challenge into a world you care about.

Defeating I.G.R.I.S. awards a large amount of experience and the Sealed Core of the Damned. The battle also has custom music, giving the encounter a sound of its own while you’re learning the boss’s movements. If you want equipment that fits the dark fantasy theme, Soulsborne Knights Armoury can be used alongside the bestiary, though it is optional. Bring the strongest gear you can reasonably prepare and don’t be surprised if the fight takes several attempts.

Before starting, activate the add-on’s packs and turn on the Upcoming Creator Features experiment in the world settings. Keep in mind that the project is unfinished, and its complex boss may put extra strain on less powerful devices. If you enjoy learning a difficult opponent one move at a time, I.G.R.I.S. offers a very different kind of challenge from the creatures you normally meet in Minecraft.

Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
