Better Death Addon: Track Location & History! Minecraft mod will add the ability to find where you died to get to and pick up lost loot. There is also a tracker, death cospas and more.
Spawning back at your bed with an empty hotbar and zero clue which ravine swallowed your netherite kit is peak survival misery. Better Death steps in as a full-fledged forensic log for your worst wipeouts, stamping exact coordinates and navigational bearings directly into your HUD so gear recovery actually feels fair.
Every seasoned survival junkie has eaten dirt thousands of blocks away from spawn while mapping uncharted terrain. Maybe a phantom tapped you off a mountain ledge, or maybe a creeper dropped out of a dark dripstone ceiling while your shield was down. In base vanilla Bedrock, your only prayer is having coordinates toggled on and snapping a frantic screenshot before hitting respawn. Miss that two-second window, and your diamond picks, totems, and hours of mineral mining dissolve into despawned smoke. Sure, the vanilla recovery compass exists, but tying your rescue tool to rare echo shards found exclusively in deadly ancient cities defeats the purpose when you need urgent navigation right now. Navigating Nether lava seas or deep subterranean ravines transforms from a panicked gamble into a calculated sprint against the clock.
What elevates this beyond basic coordinate chat popups is the integrated death history archive. If you get caught in a brutal death loop where you respawn, sprint into danger without armor, and immediately catch another skeleton arrow to the chest, standard trackers tend to overwrite your primary waypoint with your latest naked death. Better Death preserves prior incident logs, letting you cycle back through earlier casualty sites so your prime gear stash remains trackable even after subsequent fumbles. That distinction alone saves entire late-game playthroughs from ending in a bitter rage quit.
Multiplayer survival worlds and community realms gain an immediate quality-of-life boost here as well. Rather than halting an entire group expedition so someone can scour chunks for missing gear, your squad mates can reference exact death waypoints to mount coordinated recovery runs. You clear out lingering hostile mobs, secure the perimeter, and pocket every dropped item before the internal despawn timer wipes the slate clean.
Setup on mobile, console, or Windows takes seconds via standard Bedrock behavior pack importing. Throw the pack into your active world settings, ensure your experimental switches are fired up, and venture into the dark knowing your next clumsy misstep will not erase weeks of survival grinding.
Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
