Grappling Hook Mod | Achievement Friendly! adds a craftable grappling hook item built around real movement and speed, not just a simple “pull me forward” gimmick. You fire a hook to any surface to make an instant anchor point, then use movement and timing to swing along curved paths and carry momentum.
In actual gameplay, this feels best when you’re exploring places that normally slow you down—big caves, rough cliffs, messy ravines, or those annoying mountain jumps where one slip means a long trip back. The momentum system matters because the hook flies faster when you’re already moving, so sprinting into a swing can turn traversal into a smooth flow instead of stop-and-go climbing. When you’re done, switching items removes the hook, which is clutch if you need to reset fast or you accidentally anchored somewhere sketchy.
Controls are simple and readable: aim where you want to connect, use the item to shoot, then jump in auto-pull or hold jump for manual pull depending on how you want to move. The built-in fall damage protection lasts 5 seconds, which is huge for learning the timing—especially when you’re testing swings over deep drops or trying to land on tiny ledges without eating the full fall.
The physics side is the whole point here: the hook follows the path it took, acceleration and deceleration feel smooth, and rope tension can break, so you can’t just mindlessly fling yourself forever. Since the addon is in an early stage and bugs can happen, it’s smart to practice in a safe area first and avoid doing your first tests over lava or a massive void drop. Grappling Hook Mod | Achievement Friendly! is also honest about more features coming later, so right now it’s all about mastering the swing and using momentum like a tool, not a cheat.
