BlockyPets Minecraft mod will add new friends and helpers, these will be block pets in the game.

They have their own sounds and animations, and they can follow their owner, attack monsters, and help defend against threats. You’ll find different pets in different parts of the world, so meeting them can become a reason to explore somewhere you might otherwise pass by. Some appear on the surface, while others live underground or in dimensions that take more preparation to reach. Once you’ve found one, you’ll need the right item to tame it. A bit of oak is useful if you’re hoping to make friends with a Chest Pet, but an Amethyst Pet has different tastes.

The pets don’t all gather in one convenient spot. Look for the Amethyst and Observer pets while exploring caves, and keep an eye out for the Chest, Crafter, Cutter, and Pistie pets during your travels on the surface. The Mycelium Pet is another companion to watch for above ground. If you’re planning a trip to the End, you may come across the Chorus and Ender pets there, while the Glowing Pet lives in the Nether. Finding a particular companion can take you some distance from home, so consider bringing its taming item with you. Amethyst Pets take amethyst shards, Observer Pets take quartz, and Pistie Pets take redstone. You can offer an iron ingot to a Crafter Pet or cobblestone to a Cutter Pet. For the Ender and Chorus pets, pack an ender pearl and chorus fruit respectively.

There’s a practical side to these little block-shaped companions, too. Tamed pets can follow you and help when monsters come after you, which makes a journey feel less lonely. If you’d rather keep one at home while you head into a dangerous cave, interact with it to have it sit; interact again when you’re ready for it to stand and follow. The Chest and Ender pets also have their own 27-slot inventories, giving you extra room to carry supplies. That could come in handy when you’re bringing building materials home or setting out on a longer trip. And if you grow attached to one particular companion, the taming process includes an option to give it a name. Their walking, sitting, and attack animations help make them feel like creatures with a place in your world, even when their designs remind you of objects you normally use for crafting or storage.

BlockyPets is an appealing choice if you enjoy collecting companions but still want them to be useful during ordinary survival. You might settle on one favorite and take it everywhere, or make room around your base for several pets you’ve met on your travels. There’s something amusing about returning from a mining trip with a new friend that resembles the very materials you went underground to find. To get started, download and open the add-on file, then enable its resource and behavior packs in your world settings. The file linked on the page also requires the Beta APIs experiment, so turn that on before entering the world. After that, gather a few taming items and keep an eye out as you explore. The next unusual shape you spot in a cave or on the horizon might be a companion waiting to join you.

Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
